With 20 years experience of the media industry Matthew is well suited to our diverse range of projects.
Matthew’s career in the music industry started with CBS Records in 1987. He went on to be Sony Music Australia’s classical music man for some years, based in Sydney, before nurturing ABC Classics, a small independent Australian classical label. In 1996, he was appointed A&R Director at Naxos, first in Hong Kong then Auckland and in 1997 established Naxos’ UK office. In 2001 he established the Media Division of Music Sales Ltd., in London.
In London, he added to his numerous connections across the entertainment world and has worked with many artists and composers including soprano Yvonne Kenny, baritone Teddy Tahu Rhodes, cellist Li-wei, conductors Marin Alsop, David Lloyd-Jones and Paul Daniel and composers Michael Nyman, Howard Blake (general management), Jocelyn Pook, Peter Sculthorpe, John Harle and Richard Dubugnon.
Recent Knifedge projects range from developing London Philharmonic Orchestra’s own in-house record label, to the BBC TV Series ‘Sound of Musicals’ to managing the animation content for Neal Street Productions’ recently commissioned film Stuart a Life Backwards for BBC and HBO.
