Knifedge is honoured to have won both the Viral and the Chairman's prize at the IVCA's Clarions Awards 2009.
Here are the Chairman's Comments:
The Films for Holocaust Memorial Day provide a unique exposition of the skills and impact of innovative film making. The issues covered are compelling and emotionally charged yet are dealt with in a sensitive and meaningful way. Juxtaposing the Sims style animation with the real life interviews facilitates engagement and adds value and meaning. Each film is able to be delivered as a standalone piece or as part of the whole. This modular yet cohesive approach supports the distribution and delivery of the films' central messaging.
The Films for Holocaust Memorial Day raise the issues of social and racial oppression in an intelligent and calm way without oversimplifying or hectoring the audience. The choice of subjects also shows a subtlety and innate understanding of the target audiences. These films embody the spirit of the IVCA Clarion Awards.
