Broadcast Case Study

Collision

Title Sequence

Title Sequence for ITV Drama Collision by Anthony Horrowitz, Directed by Marc Evans and produced by Jill Green and Eve Gutierrez, Greenlit Productions.

The concept was to shoot a series of graphic road scenes in such a way that the vehicles and the people inside them seemed ghostly and fragile, whilst the road architecture, concrete and steel crash barriers felt solid and threatening.

The drama follows the investigation of a traffic accident and the stories surrounding the people involved, but the titles were required to be a distinct and graphic start to the five episode series.

The sequence was shot by Malcolm Hadley using the Red Camera and post production was carried out in-house at Knifedge, with deft special effects to create the type on the road by John Keates.
