NHS Films for Conference on Health
Knifedge was commissioned to create a set of information films by the NHS North East London Strategic Health Authority.
The films, directed by Tom Hadley were screened as part of the opening of the two day European Conference on Health Care and were given to all delegates as a DVD containing all of the work produced for the event, packaged in a sterile medi-pack.
Part of the commission were five animated stings created by animator Andy Martin, designed to bring a lighter, more comic element to facts and figures that might be perceived as being dry and difficult to digest. These stings were screened at appropriate moments between speakers, offering a little light relief from the detail of London wide NHS health care initiatives.
In addition to producing a series of introductory conference films, Knifedge also designed and created a DVD for the delegate pack, so that they could take the films away with them back to their own health authorities.
The DVD and packaging were inspired by the design of sterile dressing containers and printed specially for us by the printers of actual sterile packs. The DVD menu made it easy for viewers to navigate to the films in which they were most interested.
