St Bride Foundation – Branding and Graphic Design

5 December 2011

As part of the communication strategy for the St Bride Foundation, Knifedge carried out a brand consolidation exercise. We also provided the Foundation with design and printing of marketing and internal communication materials.

In 2004, the Foundation’s Governors reacquired direct management of both the St Bride Printing Library and the Bridewell Theatre, each of which always lived within the Foundation’s walls but had been previously managed by others. This produced a need to transform the way in which the organization represented itself and communicated this newly diverse offering.

Knifedge reworked the existing brand to present the different offerings as a series of sub-brands. We also created a secondary woven device inspired by the cross of St Bridget (the original St Bride). This device and colour coding gives each sub-brand its own identity whilst ensuring that their activities remain woven together in one endeavour.

‘Knifedge have provided a complete branding package including the design of brochures and website. Tim helped us to articulate our core values; the ‘values card’ is still one of the core documents that we use to communicate our identity. We are very happy with the results that our partnership with Knifedge has brought so far and look forward to the relationship continuing!’
