St John’s Bible Illuminations
Nina Dunn has created a projection design as part of the launch concert for the St John’s Bible, at St Martin in the Fields.
In 1998, St John’s Abbey and University commissioned renowned calligrapher Donald Jackson (the Queen’s Calligrapher) to produce a hand-written, hand-illuminated Bible. The project, lasting 7 years, has created a work of art that unites an ancient Benedictine tradition with the technology and vision of today, illuminating the Word of God for a new millennium.
The concert was a blend of exquisite choral music, provided by the choir of St Martin in the Fields, and readings from the Bible, delivered by community leaders and members of the project team.
Knifedge was proud to be able literally to illuminate the new Bible for the invited audience, by animating particular pages and projecting them onto the stunning architecture of the recently restored St Martin in the Fields.

“I don’t know how to thank you enough or adequately. The projection last night exceeded my expectations by about a million miles.” Revd Nicholas Holtam, Vicar, St Martin-in-the-Fields
